krill.minima

Martin Juhls fom Dortmund, Germany is a musician with many faces. Involved in producing and dj-ing, he's working with acoustic aswell electronic intruments - often with very unusual setups and field recordings. He's a calm guy and mostly searching for the other and quieter aspects in music.

Mainly influenced by Brian Eno, Erik Satie, Stockhausen, Pierre Henry, Arvo Pärt, Autechre, Alva-Noto (this list could be endless...), at first sight his music is categorizeable as ambient, mainly orchestral, slow and easy - with a very cinemascopic soundtrack feel.

On second sight you'll discover this fine differences between his projects krill.minima, Marsen Jules and Falter or Wildach Sonnerkraut, which are drifting into electronica, dub, orchestral and experimental craziness. In this case, his krill.minima output is much more rhythmic and dub-influenced as the orchestrambientious masterpieces he used to develop as Marsen Jules.

Be sure that he's able to produce a thick-weaved piece of music out of a five-second atmospheric field recording in no time. He's a great guy and besides all his music projects he's managing concerts and events in or around Dortmund and the Ruhr-Area with his event-agency Sternschaltung.
